SEO and Originality

Google’s Search Guideline Has Hope for Humanity

I’ve been down a deep SEO rabbit hole and recommend you do the same.

Here’s a link to Google’s Search Evaluator Guideline:

And a course by Ahrefs:

What stood out to me the most in my research is this: how Google evaluates Page Quality (PQ).

First, it determines what E-E-A-T standards are the most relevant for the type of content.

E-E-A-T:

  • Experience

  • Expertise

  • Authority

  • Trust (made up of the above 3)

For example, if you give medical advice, EEAT must be high. But if your content is comedy, your experience and authority might be irrelevant.

But then, after passing the EEAT standards, this is how Google evaluates quality:

Effort, originality, skills, and accuracy!

I did not expect this at all because I’ve been hearing a ton about:

AI-generated SEO content.

By definition, AI-generated SEO content is → Low effort, not original, and low talent. Depending on the model, it might be accurate.

Some might object and say, “Well, editing can make it more effort.” True, I’ll give you that.

But originality… that’s always been what we crave. We crave it in art, science, and everything in between.

I don’t know about you, but I hope effort, originality, and talent stay in Google’s search quality standards because they give me hope for an increasingly human future.

AI shouldn’t replace originality. It shouldn’t be a shortcut. I love it as a skill amplifier and would love it to be more accurate.

But I do think originality should stay in the human domain because it is one of humanity’s core definitions.

Even though the search algorithm might be fooled by some AI-generated content today, according to Google, people are still looking for new and original ideas. And that’s great news!

So stay cool, stay weird, and keep amplifying what makes you you. It’s what the world is searching for.
