The Boring Winner

The obvious path to growth no one wants to take

We all want to be understood. Loved for the dynamic, complex, thoughtful people we are. Not judged. Appreciated. Seen.

I hate to break it to you, but no one gives a fuck.

That’s why, unless you write like Quentin Tarantino, your words need to aim at one thing: adding value.

But value must be accepted before it’s felt, which means selling is everything.

Selling is simple. Spot a searing pain point, promise relief, show how, then back it all up with credibility.

Here’s the thing—the strongest credibility comes from winners. Everyone loves a winner. But being a winner is boring. You just win. Which means the easiest path to customers trusting you is winning in public.

First customer? Celebrate. Hit 10? Party time. Reach 50? Write a long gratitude letter. All other times, you just have to keep playing the game.

Michael Jordan was basketball. Like him, you must become building—relentless, obsessively consistent. I know it’s boring, but to be the great builder you aim for, that’s ALL it is right now.

Build. Show. Win. Show.

That’s it. Only that. Anything extra dilutes your edge, especially solo or in a small team. It’s boring but it’s the easiest way to growth.
